Plastic-Free July Action Calendar
Plastic-Free July was started by the Plastic Free Foundation back in 2011 with the goal to work towards a plastic-free world. Each year more organizations participate in this 31 day challenge to help reduce plastic in their own lives and take actions that advocate for systemic solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.
If you would like to join this global challenge, checkout Beyond Plastics' Plastic-Free July Action Calendar. Every day in July you can participate in a plastic-free focused activity like taking your reusable water bottle to work, using your own storage containers to bring home leftovers, reducing plastic in your garden, and writing letters to your local grocery store to reduce their plastic use.

Take Action: Tell Members of Congress to Support the Farewell To Foam Act!
Oceana has taken the lead on a campaign to say farewell to foam. This is an opportunity to reach out to your members of congress and explain the harms of plastic foam on our health and environment. Urge them to support the Farewell to Foam Act, a nation wide bill that would phase out the use of expanded polystyrene, or plastic foam, in food service products, loose fill packaging like foam peanuts, and non-medical disposable foam coolers.

That being said, it 'is difficult because there’s not a lot of end markets for it.'"
